July 13th, 2007: WinGate 6.2.2 security update released
Qbik New Zealand Limited, makers of the WinGate Proxy Server software have released a security update to their flagship WinGate product. The update addresses a critical security issue which was reported several days earlier, relating to the SMTP service in WinGate. This affects WinGate versions 5.x and 6.x prior to 6.2.2. Users of an affected version should upgrade as soon as possible. The exploit allows a remote attacker to cause the WinGate process to terminate.

November 23rd, 2006: Qbik releases WinGate 6.2.0 and VPN 2.2.0
Thuirsday 23 November 2006, Qbik New Zealand Limited, makers of Internet security and gateway management software released new versions of two of its main software products WinGate and WinGate VPN.

October 9th, 2006: Qbik signs deal with Commtouch Technologies for AntiSpam and Virus Outbreak detection for email
9 October 2006, Qbik New Zealand Limited, makers of the popular Internet Gateway Management product WinGate, has signed a deal with Commtouch software Limited, makers of AntiSpam and Virus Outbreak Detection software based on their proprietary Realtime Pattern Detection (RPD) technology.

May 17th, 2006: WinGate 6.1.2 and WinGate VPN 2.1.2 released
Wednesday 17 May 2006, Qbik New Zealand Limited, makers of Internet security and gateway management software released new versions of two of its main software products.

November 1st, 2005: WinGate 6.1, PureSight 2.0, Kaspersky AV 2.0 released
Tuesday 1 November 2005, Qbik New Zealand Limited, developers of internet security and gateway management software released new versions of it's top 4 best selling software releases.

October 3rd, 2005: WinGate celebrates its 10th birthday
On October 2 2005, WinGate - the worlds first internet sharing solution for the Windows platform - turned 10.

"Things have come a long way since 1995" said Adrien de Croy WinGate's inventor and founder of Qbik in 1995. "WinGate today doesn't bear much resemblance to that first simple freeware offering, but some things have not changed, such as our commitment to our customers, and our determination to keep WinGate at the forefront of Internet Management". To mark WinGate's 10th birthay, Qbik is preparing another WinGate release, further adding to WinGate's already extensive capabilities with an IMAP4 server, and email list support.


March 29th, 2005: WinGate 6.0.4 and WinGate VPN 2.0.4 released
Tuesday 29 March 2005, Qbik New Zealand Limited, developers of the well-known software program WinGate released maintenance updates to its flagship products WinGate and WinGate VPN. Containing a number of minor bug fixes, the company says this release should be the final version of the current cycle of WinGate before the next major release goes into public beta later this year.

October 7th, 2004: NetPatrol 1.1 released
Thursday 7 October Qbik New Zealand Limited, released the second major version of its Network Intrusion Prevention System - NetPatrol 1.1.

October 1st, 2004: Damon Hill BMW selects WinGate
Damon Hill BMW - the prestigious UK-based BMW dealership recently selected WinGate to provide internet access control and management for all employees at their Warwick head office.

July 29th, 2004: WinGate 6.0 and WinGate VPN 2.0 released
Thursday 29 July Qbik New Zealand Limited, a manufacturer of Internet security and management software products released the general public version of its latest offerings - WinGate 6.0, and WinGate VPN 2.0. Offering several exciting new features as well as a major overhaul of several core functions, Qbik has positioned WinGate to address larger corporate markets by focussing on some key areas not covered by existing products.

July 13th, 2004: Qbik Releases WinGate 6.0 RC2
The final release candidate prior to the planned release of WinGate 6.0 in mid July contains several exciting new features, including connection failover, remote gateway selection (support for specifying default gateways per service), support for DMZs, and an ARP responder. June 25th, 2004: Exciting new WinGate beta 3 released
Friday 25 June, Qbik New Zealand Limited released the final beta of their flagship Proxy and Firewall product WinGate. Beta 3 adds some significant functionality to the previous beta, and solves some important issues for users, such as bandwidth control, and how to cope with changes to network interfaces. Some further key usability features make the built-in Mail Server even more powerful and functional. WinGate 6 just keeps on getting more exciting says Adrien de Croy, founder of Qbik New Zealand Limited, and the inventor of WinGate in 1995. On top of an already exciting upgrade to version 5, we managed to squeeze a few more key features into the final beta....

May 6th, 2004: Qbik releases WinGate 6.0 beta

February 24th, 2004: Qbik Releases WinGate 5.2.3 and WinGate VPN 1.2.3

January 22nd, 2004: Qbik releases new NetPatrol beta

October 25th, 2003: Name change for WinGate content filtering plugin
It's official! The new content filtering product which operates as a plugin for WinGate will be known as PureSight for WinGate.

October 2nd, 2003: Qbik Launches new website
Qbik New Zealand have launched an all-new website as they move to assume responsibility for distribution and support of WinGate and all Qbik products. It is to be expected that there will be some issues with the site, so please be patient and bear with us as we work through and resolve these issues.

August 26th, 2003: WinGate authors retake reins
Qbik New Zealand Ltd. will be re-assuming responsibility for sales and distribution for their WinGate suite of products from 30 September 2003. The Auckland based software company is scaling up its workforce to take-on these functions after six years US based distribution.
